Awareness
Have you heard of, used, are using ...?
Microsoft's Power BI and Tableau both outpace the competition in terms of awareness, but don't match that with current use from our respondents. This category doesn't seem to have any legacy favorites, so newer tools are much more adopted.

Hex is a new tool for this survey, and those who are aware of it show a lot of interest in using it, measuring up to powerhouses like Metabase. It's clear though, that tools that have been around for a while like Tableau and Power BI have the highest number of users.

Hex takes the #1 rating spot from last year's winner, Metabase, which barely fell to 3rd place. A newer tool, June, seems to have a lot of fans and though it has less ratings, it was a near universal "maybe" so maybe some movement in this space in the coming years.

How happy are you with the State of BI Tools?
The vast majority of respondents are neutral about the state of BI tools. Not a lot of love or loathe in this space, it would seem. Average rating is 5.53.
Cost
How happy are you with the State of BI Tools?
Same with state, it seems that BI tools aren't putting anyone off with their prices, which either means that they are affordable or that this target audience doesn't have to deal with the cost of the tools as a blocker for their work.
